Tom Ford Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Show

I am so glad the full video of Tom Ford's Spring Summer 2011 fashion show was released. It was by far the most talked about event of last fashion week and now that February fashion week is just around the corner, everyone will be waiting to see what he does. The collection and entire experience looks parallel to none. As for the actual video? I could have done without so much Terry Richardson. Come on Terry, if ever there's a time to wear a Tom Ford tux, this was it.

When One Isn't Enough

I may already have a cut-off denim vest, but that doesn't stop me from wanting another. (My current is one I DIY-ed from a denim jacket I picked up at Goodwill. I am, of course, the only person who goes into Goodwill and comes out with J.Crew.)

Which do we like, Gap's Raw-edged Denim Vest or J.Crew's Denim Vest? Neither, they're both Man Repellers? You bet they are.

Rachel Comey Hiking-Inspired Bags

Rachel Comey Barbells Backpack, Rachel Comey Puddle Drop Backpack, Rachel Comey Tarpalin Weave Utility Clutch, Rachel Comey Barbells Utility Clutch

I am 100% smitten over these Rachel Comey bags. The hiking-inspired shapes designs gained a lot of attention when she showed them in her Spring/Summer 2010 show and they've finally hit stores. I have a major soft spot for anything that involves hiking shapes, fabrics, or styling because I grew up going on hikes nearly every weekend and spending vacations camping. When I was little I sort of hated it, but now I appreciate how awesome it was and really miss it being in New York. A lot of the gear we used were things either passed down from my grandparents or that my parents had used when they were young, meaning everything was perfectly '70s and retro. I made them keep as much of it as possible, but it isn't really wearable in the every day. These bags make it possible, which is why they are top of the list for my summer must-haves.

Wiksten Spring/Summer 2010

I love Wiksten's Spring/Summer 2010 lookbook. The beach (at Jacob Riis Park), the red lipstick, the jumping, and the smiling all set the scene for a perfect summer. The small collection is surprisingly Opening Ceremony-friendly with cut-out shoulders, tank top button-ups, and tribal prints, but since each is made in such small batches, you really will have something unique. The dyed tank dress is my favorite, but if I could have it all, I would.

Lunch at Roebling Tea Room by Lauren Moffatt

Lunch at Roebling Tea Room, a collection by Lauren Moffatt. Seriously? I'm not sure what all this denim has to do with the Williamsburg lunch/brunch/dinner spot, but it is sort of cute.

Do you think she knows Bill Murray's son works there?

La New Yorkina at The Hester Street Fair

Things I can speak highly about: La New Yorkina's popsicles at the Hester Street Fair. They are simply beyond. I'm eating the coconut here, but the passion fruit is amazing as well. I could go to the fair every weekend just to pick up a pop.

Take a closer look at my floral, Erdem-inspired nails!

J.Crew's Sale Read My Mind

J.Crew keeps discounting their sale selection further and in doing so, tugging with my heartstrings. The slouchy washed silk blazer is easy, the jumper is breezy, the shoes are perfection for me (I'm obsessed with gold shoes and don't really wear anything over 3 inches), and the sweats are on trend without being trendy.

Sigh, J.Crew, and the new Spring/Summer 2010 is just perfection. You kill me.

DIY Clogs by Maguba

Maguba lets you fulfill all of your colorful clog dreams by designing your own color combination for their four different clog styles. Don't have any colorful clog dreams? That's cool too, stick to the classics. Their clog shapes are pretty much as good as any on the market and they're priced similarly, if not cheaper than most. For me it's a toss up between purple and gold, so why not go for both.

Cynthia Rowley for Roxy- I Need Neoprene

I was immediately excited when Cynthia Rowley first announced her collaboration line with Roxy. Billed as surf wear with Rowley's signature girly twist that you can wear in and out of the waves, I knew I would love it. Technically speaking I love anything with neoprene. The result is something like Lisa Marie Fernandez's chic take on surf wear, but less overtly sexy. The line will be available at Barney's and Colette, but I just discovered that you can buy them now on Roxy.com as well. I obviously want it all, but the pencil skirt is too much to pass up.

The Thaw

Now that we are deep in the midst of the thaw, the weather in NYC has gotten warmer, hot even, outside seating has hit every cafe, and seemingly everyone is out on the streets or sitting in parks, friends have started making summer arrangements. I sadly had to pass on a Hamptons house, but hearing about Memorial Day plans, Sole East stays, and wild Montauk weekends has me planning the only way I know how; swimsuit shopping. Tori Praver's collection is the perfectly understated while still extremely sexy. The tiny floral print on the high-waisted briefs has a hint of '90s without being obnoxious and you know how I feel about leopard. I think next weekend will be my first dip in a pool and I wish I were wearing these.
